TAC supports Statement Of Commitment against inappropriate behaviour in TV

22 August 2022

TAC is delighted to support the Statement of Commitment published today (22 August 2022) against bullying, harassment and inappropriate behaviour in television.

In the statement, Equity notes “For the first time, a group consisting of representatives involved in the working life cycle of actors met to discuss how everyone can contribute to a respectful workplace and to agree how concerns should be raised if there is inappropriate behaviour.”

Dyfrig Davies, TAC Chair said:

“TAC is very pleased to support this Statement of Commitment to ensure a safe and fair working environment for our in front of camera talent.  Every small collaborative step taken to tackle issues relating to bullying and harassment and inappropriate behaviour will make a big difference to everyone working in the industry.

Such action will help to improve work conditions and provide clear protocols on how to address concerns, providing support and make individuals aware of their rights.  TAC acknowledges the importance of the freelance sector which is the backbone of the industry.”
