TAC Welcomes BBC Trust Content Supply Review report

Teledwyr Annibynnol Cymru (TAC), the trade body for the independent production sector in Wales, today commented on the publication of the BBC Trust Content Supply Review:

TAC Chair, Iestyn Garlick said:

“We greatly welcome that as part of BBC re-examining its network commission across the UK, the Trust ‘will also want to see how the BBC’s production centres across the UK intend to work more effectively together with the independent sector based in different parts of the UK to develop creative, sustainable, local ecologies’.”

“We also very much welcome the review’s conclusion that there needs to be a reduction or even removal of the in-house BBC TV guarantee to enable greater competition for ideas from indies.”
