TAC’s first Honorary President and two new Council members announced

8 November 2022

During TAC’s Annual General Meeting on 26 October 2022 at the National Library, Aberystwyth Chairman Dyfrig Davies announced TAC’s first Honorary President and two new members of the Council.

Addressing members, Dyfrig said:  “It is a privilege to announce the good news that TAC Council has appointed Iestyn Garlick as Honorary President.  We have seen Iestyn in various roles as an actor on our televisions and his role as producer, former chair of TAC, his constant and loyal involvement with the sector and his leadership of TAC through difficult times makes it an honour to appoint him as TAC’s first Honorary President.”

Iestyn Garlick’s role as Honorary President will be to support TAC’s aims and objectives and ensure as high a profile as possible for TAC at this key time in broadcasting.

Two new members were elected to TAC Council at the AGM namely Llyr Morus, Head of Production at Vox Pictures, and Arwyn Evans, Managing Director of Darlun Cyf.

Llyr Morus started his career working in production 30 years ago – working initially on light entertainment before moving into children’s television and then to Drama.  As a producer his recent credits include Un Bore Mercher/Keeping Faith 3, Cyswllt, Fflam and Dal y Mellt.  His career has seen him work in the independent sector as well as being a staff member at BBC Wales and BBC Studios.  Llyr is a keen advocate of developing talent within the industry.

Following establishing an office in Caernarfon, Arwyn Evans and Darlun have built a reputation for innovative TV formats such as Gwesty Aduniad, Helo Syrjeri, and Ysgol Ni:Moelwyn that put people at the heart of their programmes.  It works with several broadcasters such as the BBC and S4C as well as international distributors such as SONY TV and Orange Smarty.

Dyfrig said: “Llyr and Arwyn have extensive experience and a valuable contribution to offer and I am delighted to have them as members of the TAC Council.”

It was confirmed that current Council members have expressed their wish to continue with the work over the coming year and there was a unanimous vote in favour:
