TAC calls on Chancellor to retain Channel 4 as a publicly-owned broadcaster

20 November 2015

TAC has written to Chancellor George Osborne requesting that Channel 4 remains a publicly-owned broadcaster.

TAC Chair Iestyn Garlick said:

“Many production companies in Wales work with Channel 4. Its remit of working with the nations and regions, and its commitment to risk-taking and innovative programmes, make it an extremely important part of the UK’s vibrant TV production sector. It’s essential than it remains publicly owned and able to put all its resources into commissioning content in the years to come.”
