TAC’s policy work includes engaging with those who make decisions affecting our industry and the broader broadcasting and production ecology.

Over the past few years TAC has engaged regularly with:

  • The UK Government – Wales Office and the UK Government Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) – on matters including the Welsh creative sector, the level of S4C’s funding and the protection of S4C’s editorial and managerial independence
  • Representatives of all political parties, to discuss the Welsh TV production sector and its cultural and economic importance
  • Parliamentary Committee inquiries, including the Welsh Government Committee inquiries on broadcasting in Wales and on promoting Wales abroad, also the DCMS Committee on creative industries policy and the future of the BBC
  • The Welsh Assembly Government on a range of issues
  • The Welsh Assembly’s Culture, Welsh Language and Communications Committee
  • The BBC Trust, Ofcom, and others to discuss the regulation of the BBC, public service broadcasting and other related matters
  • The BBC executive and S4C to discuss policy matters

You can read our recent submissions to consultations and Committee inquiries below.

TAC is engaged in ongoing consultation processes, including the Ofcom review of regional production and the structure of the Public Service Contestable Fund.

If you wish to discuss any aspect of TAC’s current policy, please e-mail Tim Wilson, TAC Media and Policy Advisor, or call 07909 560374.
